Hi everyone! I wanted to know if this site was still active, because Putumayo is my favorite brand. I am very new to lolita and would like to know if anyone could give me tips about buying Putumayo's fashion. Thank you so much!

There seems to only be a post once every three months so it isn't very active at all. If I were you, I would get Putumayo secondhand because its resale value is much lower than retail. If you ever get the chance to go to Tokyo, Closetchild has a lot of cheap Putu and the Putumayo stores have really good sale sections. It might just be when I go though. August gets a lot of sales. You can also check out Closetchild's website for Putumayo goods. In New York, there is a store called Tokyo Rebel that sells Japanese lolita, gothic, punk brands including Putumayo, directly from the stores in Japan.
Hope this helps! :D

Re: Hi
I tried looking online at Closet Child, and it seems to be always sold out when I look. I think they put new clothes up on Wednesdays at 6am so I've been missing the new wave of clothes, everyone beats me to them. Sadly, I've been to Tokyo, my credit card wasn't accepted, and we only stayed in Harajuku for 2 hours T.T worst experience of my life. Now that I've done all the research, I'm better prepared. I've also been to Tokyo rebel once, and the one dress I tried on (a strapless dress) was too big on me. I was swimming in it. I've checked their website and also Harajuku hearts, but nothing is appealing to me, and it is also really expensive. I LOVEE the new items on the actual Putumayo website, but of course, I can't get things from them and its HELLA expensive. :/

Re: Hi
Well, next time you go, go to as many of the Closetchilds (Harajuku, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Yokohama) you can and check the sales racks at the Putu stores. I know for a fact that if you go in August, you will find lots on sale, however, this is one of the hottest months in Japan. It starts to cool down right near the end of August. I have found their stores at Laforet department store, and there are one or two more stores around in Harajuku. One is a basement with stairs leading down that have clothed mannequins and a sign. The other store is street level. I thought the street level one looked the best. Also have you seen their luckypacks?

Re: Hi
Do you mean on the website or where? Where are the lucky packs? Have you been to tokyo before? yeah, I went in july and I have never felt humidity that intense before, and I'm from Pennsylvania where it is always oppressively hot.

Re: Hi
I know luckypacks come in the winter near or on New Years and people usually get shopping services for the brands that don't ship overseas. They also have summer ones too I think. I have been to Tokyo many times before and CC has the best deals for Putumayo clothes. I saw a screen-printed spaghetti strap top for 1500Yen, pants for 4000Yen(maybe cheaper) and other super good deals. Also the sales for Putu are great too because you can get things fifty percent off or more and unlike CC, it's brand new.

I never have good luck buying putumayo second-hand personally. I usually order from their website! You can use a shopping service or if you feel confident you can use a forwarding service like tenso which would be cheaper.

Also every few months Harajuku Hearts has a group order and they charge a 10% commission. You can pick it up in store or have them ship it to you. I hope this helps!

oh hey I had a question about the 3way Putumayo bag!?!
I didn't know where to post this but I am confused about this bag. How is it 3 ways? I really just want to know how it functions when it's a backpack. Does anyone have any pictures?

link to the bag on tokyorebel.com

thank you all~

Hi, next time try making your own lj post instead of replying to someone's comment to get more people to answer your question

But anyway you can move the straps around three different ways. The way shown is the handbag, and if you use the long strap on the side you can wear it like a shoulder bag. The backpack is where you loop the straps so you can wear it as a backpack. This is a common style for japanese school bags
